Hello! I’m Emily Fyfe, a multimedia artist and illustrator. I live with my partner on his family’s farm just outside of Rich Valley, Alberta, on Treaty Six Territory.
In 2023, I graduated from Alberta University of the Arts’ Visual Communications Design program with distinction. I studied illustration and character design, and fell in love with adapting narratives for younger audiences, as well as graphic novels and zines. Recently, I’ve also dabbled in painting murals and selling my work at local markets. My practice is influenced by my life in rural Alberta, and the natural world that surrounds me. I enjoy capturing the quaint beauty of farms, small towns, and forests, while telling the stories of those who live in them.
Beyond drawing, painting and collaging, I can be found at Stony Plain Public Library, where I work part time as a library assistant, or volunteering for the Onoway Museum and Heritage Centre and George Pegg Botanic Garden, helping the rural communities that raised me preserve local history for future generations.
